Now we need to configure the software to run when the Raspberry is booted (when the scoreboard is switched on). Sudo chmod 755 /usr/local/bin/scoreboard/*.sh Sudo chown -R root: /usr/local/bin/scoreboard/ Now copy the files in to the correct location and set the file permissions with the following commands: sudo cp -r /home/pi/software/software/btscoreboard/* /usr/local/bin/scoreboard/ Now that the BTScoreboard.zip file has been copied on to the Raspberry, you need to open a terminal session to the Raspberry (using patty) and unzip the files with the following commands: cd /home/pi You will need to use the IP address of the scoreboard to connect to the Raspberry.
The standard score board layout (other layouts can be supported by adjusting the software, please ask for help on the forum).įirst, using a laptop download the BTScoreboard software from the downloads page, and then using WinSCP to copy it on to your Raspberry and put it in the /home/pi directory.A laptop or similar device that can be used to connect to the Raspberry to set the software up (one off only). The Raspberry must have version 5.50 or later of the bluetoothctl software (more on this later).A Raspberry Pi 3b, 4 or Zero running the scoreboard.A mobile device or tablet running the Play Cricket Scorer App.If the Play Cricket Scorer integration fails during a game, just use the standard web interface and then post for advice on the forum. With this software the standard scoreboard web interface will still work fine. WARNING: This software is BETA, and may contain bugs.
#CRICKET SCORING APP HOW TO#
This web page shows how to integrate the Play Cricket Scorer App with the buildyourownscoreboard project. Please note that Bluetooth is a short range connection, so for this integration to function correctly the scorer using the mobile app must be close to the scoreboard. You also will need to set up your scoreboard in the normal way (by installing the web interface, and setting up the Arduino) before installing this software. To use this integration, you will need to be using a Rasperry 3b, 4 or Pi Zero (the latest Raspberry devices with on board Bluetooth). This can be used alongside (but not at the same time as) the web interface and or the full Play Cricket Pro integration.
#CRICKET SCORING APP INSTALL#
Thank you to Matthew and the team at Baldock Town for writing the integration, writing the instructions on how to install the software and sharing it with the score board building community! I look forwards to more updates as the build progresses.
#CRICKET SCORING APP UPDATE#
Matthew from Baldock Town has written a fantastic Integration for the App, so that it can update the scoreboard via a Bluetooth connection. Recently they released the Play Cricket Scorer App, which runs on tablets and mobile devices and offers an easy way for teams to score a game. Play Cricket is the ECB developed national results and stats system that is used by leagues across the UK. Play Cricket Scorer App for the BuildYourOwnScoreboard board
